Waves drizzle into your footprints
while beach crabs scurry inland
and I study this you that is not you,
this imprint you have left on hot sands.
I look for the marks you've made in me,
a dazzle of light,
gangs of words that spray paint my mind,
this dance I do like a hungry moth
eating my breath in the flames.
I walk beaches at dawn and find you
even when you are not there.
